Lunch Menus

Lunch

Our School Caterer works with Chartwells who provide nutritionally balanced meals each day. There is a policy of using fresh produce and a minimum of processed food.  Menus can always be found on notice boards in the school and in the hall next to the service hatch. You can also click on the link on this page to download the latest menu.

Please send money for dinners required during the week in a clearly marked envelope to the school office. You can also pay online at www.scopay.com, please enquire at the school office for log in details.

Free School Meals

Every child in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are now entitled to receive a Universal Free School Meal. However this is not to be confused with the Pupil Premium entitlement that children of low income families are entitled to.

Are you aware that if you are eligible to receive ‘free school meals’ your successful application will entitle you to receive discounts from a wide range of school activities i.e. clubs, trips and music lessons.

Although your child will now receive the Universal School Meal we would encourage you to register for free school meals so that your child does not miss out on the extra benefits. Please contact the Headteacher or Free School Meals, Client Services, County Hall, Newport, Isle of Wight, PO30 1UD.  (Tel: 823461) if you think you qualify.

Chartwells Questions & Answers

www.loveschoolmeals.co.uk/isle-of-wight

Every day the main meal listed in the Chartwells menu is available for children. However, children are also able to choose either a jacket potato or vegetarian option. If your child would like to have a jacket potato or vegetarian meal then please pop into the foyer on the day to complete an order form. The office will then hand the order forms to the kitchen ready for lunchtime. Please note that these options are included in the Universal Free School Meal scheme, otherwise the £2.15 per meal charge applies. Many thanks.

As an alternative to school dinners, children may bring a pack lunch. In line with our “Healthy School” status we request that there are no sweets or ‘junk food’! The 5:1 ratio works well with 5 different healthy items to one treat.  An award is given each week for making a healthy lunch choice; certificates are presented at our Collective Worship.

Mid-Morning Drink & Snack

Milk is supplied by Cool Milk at School Ltd.  You can register online www.coolmilk.com School Code No 6036 or complete and return a form available from the school office.  Children under 5 years of age will be entitled to free school milk.

Healthy Snacks

For a mid morning snack children are welcome to bring in a snack of fresh fruit / vegetable. This is provided each day free of charge up to Year 2.

As a healthy school, we follow the government guidelines of what constitutes as a healthy mid-morning. These are: Dried Fruit, Rice Cakes, Bread Sticks, Yogurts, Fruit, Healthy Cereal Bars (not chocolate or yogurt based).

NO NUTS OR PRODUCTS CONTAINING NUTS.

If you would like your child to have a treat, such as a chocolate biscuit bar, please include this in their balanced lunchbox.
